What is SAT and why should I implement it?
The Skyscanner Analytics Tag (SAT) solution aims to be a scalable, easy to install and reliable downstream event tracking service. You can configure SAT using your tag manager. Whenever a user's booking is confirmed, SAT logs the conversion into our system together with the redirect id which enables us to bind your conversions with redirects from our site. This will enable us to provide you with granular end-to-end data via the Partner Portal, including benchmarks against your competition.
What do you need to do to install the solution?
How is this solution different from old tracking pixel, keyword tracking?
We realized that the old tracking pixel was not very easy to implement so we now provide a solution which is much easier to install. Keyword tracking is used to track confirmed bookings, conversion tracking is used to track front-end telemetry on "intent to book", i.e. clicking the "book" button and seeing a confirmation page. The distinction is important and they are two separate data sets.
Can I now delete my old pixel?
No. We are in a period of transition to Skyscanner Analytics Tag so we would appreciate that you keep old pixel for now.
Which tag managers are supported?
We support Google Tag Manager, Ensighten and Tealium, as well as a manual tag implementation. If you are using a different tag manager then you can still install SAT but we, unfortunately, do not have documentation specific to you. We recommend using the documentation for one of the other tag managers as most are very similar in their design.
So how do I get started with SAT?
If you are a new partner and has just signed up with us, you should be able to access the SAT documentation in the partner portal https://partnerportal.skyscanner.net/sat/documentation
If you are an existing partner and would like to use SAT, please contact your commercial managers.
