In order for our traveller's to successfully make bookings, we require live access to our Partners' booking API. The sole purpose of this API is to place the booking in the Partner's system based on the incoming data.
Note that this API must be PCI compliant, and as part of the connection process, an Attestation of compliance (AOC) letter will have to be exchanged with Braintree. This will be collected at the time of integration by the Partner Services Team at Skyscanner and sent to Braintree.
Booking Flow
The booking API comes into play after a user selects a room and then enters the checkout process which takes them to the payment stage. With information gathered, Skyscanner transfers the reservation responsibilities to the external payment provider (Braintree) which will execute the payment to the partner selling the hotel. Please note that neither Skyscanner nor Braintree will be the merchant of record.
Skyscanner will process the request with the following information and pass this to Braintree
- Contact information
- Billing
- Room-rate
- Guest info
All sensitive credit card data is securely stored in Braintree and is not handled by Skyscanner at any time.
Braintree then composes the request with the credit card data and makes a request to the partner booking API. Booking confirmation is then transferred back from the partner API to the user in the form of a confirmation email. If you would like Skyscanner to send the confirmation email on your behalf, we can accommodate for this. Please let the Partner Services Team know if you would like to proceed with this option.
