Purpose
On some routes we construct self-transfer content, and to offer the most valuable self-transfer options without overwhelming the user, they are filtered based on Flight Quality Score (combination of price and duration).
Self-Transfer Classification
"Self-Transferness" is a property of an itinerary leg. This is calculated based on the legs having more than 0 stops and the combination of marketing carriers for that leg. This classification is based on carrier combinability data from the routes carriers endpoint. This means that certain airlines might be set up so that we can construct mixed itineraries with self-transfers included. Other airlines might be set up to never allow self-transfers.
Protected Self-Transfer (PST)
This refers to a Pricing Item that is part of an itinerary leg that we have classified as self-transfer (according to the carrier configurations as mentioned above) AND is in a list of known protection providers. If you (OTA) are in the list of known protection providers, the self-transfer options you provide can be shown to the user. However keep in mind that we take only a limited amount of self transfer itineraries to show to our users.
Partners who are interested in being allowed for PTS must be approved by Account Manager and our User Satisfaction team. If you wish to be considered for this please submit a form with the following information:
- The conditions of guarantee you offer;
- Your end-to-end messaging on your website through the booking flow, and in post-booking documentation that's sent out to the user, and
- Your customer support hours
Non-Protected Self-Transfer (NPST)
This refers to a Pricing Item that is part of an itinerary leg we have classified as a self-transfer AND is not in the a list of known protection providers. If you are not in the list of known protection providers, then the self-transfer options you may offer will definitely be filtered out.
To find out if you (an OTA) are included in the list of known protection providers, please open a support ticket with us using this form
