The Settings module provides an overview of your Skyscanner flight integration configurations. The search configurations define how we query your API for the most relevant flight searches and are optimized to reduce any unnecessary API calls as well as minimize errors and no quote results.
The search configurations are set during the flight integration process or modified when making a flights integration change.
Overview
From the drop-down menu on the left, click on a specific option to view the applicable configurations. Depending on your initial integration requirements, you may select from market, platform, or an internal id to view the settings.
You may also download your integration settings to review and identify any inconsistencies or outdated information.
Setup
The setup settings detail the markets, languages, and platforms, including desktop, web and/or app, that are enabled for search on Skyscanner. It may also indicate whether routes are configured for domestic and/or international flight searches.
Flight Details
The flight details settings describe the cabin classes, route source(s), booking horizon, and passenger restrictions.
Flight search requests include a specified cabin class. Cabin classes may include economy, premium economy, business, and first, and are mapped to your cabin class or fare basis codes. To learn more about cabin class configuration, see our cabin classes article.
Routes information can be obtained from one source or multiple sources, including OAG, an automated route source such as a route API or FTP download, or a static manual route list, and multiple sources may be combined to ensure proper route coverage.
Alternatively, OTA partners may elect to have no route source and be open to all valid flight searches. To learn more about route sources, see our route configuration article.
Booking Horizon
The booking horizon defines the minimum and maximum timeframe that a traveller can book a ticket and we will query your API for flight searches within this time range.
Passenger Restrictions
The passenger restrictions detail the passenger age groups enabled and the number of passengers supported per age group and flight search. Passenger age groups may include:
- Adults (16+ years of age)
- Children (2-15 years of age)
- Infant (0-2 years of age)
Passenger age groups can be configured to accommodate your own classifications.
Cache
Flight search results are cached to minimize the number of API calls and to provide a better user experience. There are two types of cache settings - booking panel cache and dayview cache.
Booking panel cache is set to 10 minutes by default and cannot be modified.
Dayview cache is based on different booking horizons and is generally set as follows:
- This week (less than 7 days): 4 hours
- This month (within 7 to 30 days): 24 hours
- Later than that (30 days or greater): 36 hours
No quote results are also cached to minimize API calls.
Dayview cache can be adjusted to accommodate your performance needs.
To learn more about caching configuration, see our cache configuration article.
